With Mother Nature showing some extra kindness to the Midwest this year, Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa kicked off its golf season over a month earlier than usual with all four championship golf courses open for business and proudly showcasing their multi-million dollar renovations. “They are all absolutely pristine and stunning in every sense of the word,” Steward adds. “This early in the season, the golf courses are in mid-summer condition and actually look like our Golf Maintenance staff hand-painted them!”
Under the direction of the resort’s Golf Maintenance team all four golf courses underwent a restoration project in the fall of 2011. The reconstruction included the rebuilding of over 100 bunkers, improved drainage by reshaping several creeks, removal of select trees to improve play, restoration of tee boxes, and several bridge repairs. One of the more impressive, final results of the redesign and reconstruction was the ability to bring back the bunkers to their original USGA quality.
