Don’t Miss Cool Colors & Great Rates to Close the Season
After one of the most glorious golf seasons weather-wise in recent memory (rounds played were up 9.2% as of July, according to Golf Datatech), we’re down to the last gasp before the snow flies.
Fortunately, now is unquestionably the prettiest time to play, fall’s full of the game’s best deals, too. Here’s a look at some of the best in the Chicago area and beyond.
You don’t have too much longer to play one of the Midwest’s highest-ranking courses, The General. Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa’s signature course is a classic fall golf experience, and the resort’s Eagle Package is the best way to do it.
Starting at just $149, the package includes accommodations for one weekday night, two rounds of 18-hole golf with cart included ($30 surcharge for each round played on The General), one hearty breakfast in Woodlands Restaurant, complimentary range balls, and even a 10% discount on any spa service at Stonedrift Spa.

Ruffled Feathers Golf Club
Pete Dye, the man who designed some of the world’s scariest golf holes, might just be the perfect architect for October golf. And his highly-regarded Ruffled Feathers Golf Club (co-designed with his son, P.B. Dye) offers classic Dye design in the golf-rich suburb of Lemont.
Now it’s all yours at fantastic fall rates, going as low as just $39 for weekdays after 2 p.m.
While we still have some daylight left in our day, sneak out to play 27 at the killer Ken Killian-designed Arrowhead Golf Club in Wheaton. The South Course nine was redesigned by Greg Martin and reopened this past spring, and fall rates are in effect the rest of the season. Play 18 starting at $40, and add another nine for just $21.
